At the moment 15 international students are attending high schools in Berlin with GLS. Every year GLS invites them to a Christmas get-together. The hosts are Julia and Kathlen, responsible for the academic year program at GLS and contact persons for all international high school students in Berlin:

The Christmas dinner started at 6 pm in the restaurant on the GLS campus in the center of Berlin. Julia and Kathlen welcomed 8 high school students from Switzerland, Korea, Brazil, Mexico and Italy. All of them know GLS quite well as GLS has it's own language school where they can attend evening courses for free. (See here the GLS language school)

Left you see Julia from GLS, who is responable for exchange students in Berlin together with her colleague Kathlen who took this picture. Next to Julia you see lovely Morgan from Switzerland who has been in Berlin since September and will stay until June. In Switzerland everybody needs to know German well. That's why Morgan has decided to attend a school in Germany. We are reeeeaaaalllly impressed by his German :-)

From very far away came Won-Jung called "Wonnie" (left), Sung-Young (middle) and Alvaro (right). Alvaro is from from Mexico, the other two from Korea. They attend different schools in Berlin but they see each other regularly on GLS events. Wonnie is a big fan of Bayern München and he joined a football club in Berlin where he found many friends, among them many Turkish boys.

Next to Morgan, Caio from Brazil and Davide from Italy. All three boys seem to be impressed both by Berlin and its girls :-)

The annual Christmas dinner is only one of many meetings, that Julia and Kathlen arrange for international high school students who attend schools in Berlin. The idea is to stay in touch, to know what students are happy with and what worries them.

That's what GLS offers to exchange students in Berlin:

- free German evening courses at the GLS German language school
- 2 trips per year, e.g. to Hamburg or Dresden (GLS pays the tickets)
- the possibility to join all weekend trips for adult students at GLS

If you are interested in attending a Berlin high school with GLS, you will find all information on the GLS high school website. There you will also find Julia´sand Kathlen´s contact details.
